The "Wagabunda" lakeside hostel and campsite *** This tourist company has been in existence since 1991. It has been registered with the Polish Federation of Camping and Caravanning, for many years now, and it is a member of the Polish Tourist Chamber. We are licenced organisers of tourist events, including those requested by customers Licence No. 51/S-IV/4030-31/00. PESEL: 53081105951.

Location: The complex is set in 3.7 hectares in a healthy part of the country, about 220 km off Warsaw. The site is easily accessible by bus, train or by car (three hours drive from Warsaw).The "Wagabunda" lakeside hostel and campsite are located on the town outskirts at the Lake of Mikolajki, neighbouring the road to the Capital City of Poland. Some nearby tourist attractions include lakes Talty, Beldany, Mikolajskie and Sniardwy, as well as Krutynia Dolna Reserve, which are well-known far beyond the borders of Poland.
Lakes are rich in fish in the area, among which the most numerous species are eel, vendace, zander, tench and pike. In the forests, enthusiasts of hunting will find abundance of game such as deer, elk, roe deer, hare and muskrat.

General information: We offer three-star facilities. The total accommodation capacity is 260 beds in 60 cabins. The cabins are made of wood and they have standard equipment. Tourists living in cabins, at the camp-site and in caravans have at their disposal a high standard sun-heated facility with showers, washbasins and toilets. The whole area is fenced and includes a beach volleyball court and the "Wagabunda" restaurant. Our guests may use water sports equipment (boats, canoes), bicycles and the car park.

Additionally:

• Check-in time is 12.00 noon, and check-out time is 10.00 am.
• Prices include the use of showers.

Youth summer camp including canoeing school and trip

The "Wagabunda" Tourist Compaty (formerly known as "Jurand") has a long-standing experience in organizing summer camps and youth camps for big companies operating in the south of Poland. It all started in 1986 when summer camps were first organized in our lakeside hostel in Spychowo for the "Borynia" coal mine in Jastrzebie Zdroj.
In place of the old form of holiday experience, i.e. "beach - cabin, deckchair - canteen", we promote a new model of spending leisure time - active tourism, which is in line with the fine tradition of scouting. Within this model, we offer such activities as canoeing trips, bicycle rides and hiking.
The driving force behind this interesting event are experienced guides. Their good interpersonal skills let them have good relationship with children and the youth, which pays off in their involvement in the activities. Depending on the camp participants' age, skills and fitness, they are divided into advanced and beginner groups, and each group follows a different program adjusted to the capabilities of its members. A major part of the camp experience involves preparation and training for, and participation in the canoeing trip. It is worth emphasizing that we guarantee the safety of routes to be used during the event, and the participation in water activities is voluntary.
Another part of the program is biking training based on the cyclist guides' practical expertise. The biking routes we offer take into account abilities of camp participants.
No matter how old our holiday makers are, they all can enjoy their leisure time, learn something interesting about the Masuria, and experience its beauty for themselves.

Canoeing camp for youth
The program includes canoeing, mountain biking and hiking tours accompanied by interesting tales about the Masurian Landscape Park. We offer leisure in one of the most attractive and healthiest areas of the Masuria, where holiday makers can enjoy sports activities, numerous tours and experience good fun. The main attraction of the event is the canoeing trip on the Krutynia River which is regarded as the Queen of Masurian rivers.

The program of the trip includes bike expeditions and walking tours showing the beauty of the region. The Krutynia River is claimed to be one of the most beautiful European rivers, which is supported by numerous tourists from all corners of Poland and Europe who explore this route every year. When hiking, camp participants visit famous Masurian spots: Spychowo, Zgon, Cierpieta, Krutyn, Wojnowo, Ukta, Nowy Most, Iznota, Kadzidlo, Strzalowo, Wierzba, and Mikolajki - the water-sports capital of Poland.

They also get a chance to explore nature reserves and see natural features of historic importance, such as:

Canoeing trip
This year the Jurand canoeing trip starts at the "Wagabunda" lakeside hostel in Mikolajki at 12.00 noon every day.
Trip participants check in at the reception desk of the leisure resort where they meet the trip guide. During the trip, cars can be left at our car park for 8 Polish zloty a day.

On the trail arrangements concerning matters such as accommodation and meal times are the guide's responsibility.

"Distinction by the Minister of Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Poland"

In recognition of his contribution to the development of tourism, Jerzy Marcin Banat has been awarded a merit award by the Minister of Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Poland.
The awarding took place on October 22, 2008 during a gala organized by the Marshal of the Warminsko-mazurskie Province on the World Day of Tourism.

"Produkt i Usługa Roku Warmii i Mazur"

On Friday evening, November 7th 2008, Olsztyn Castle witnessed a ceremonial gala, during which presented were the winners of two most important contests organised in Warmia and Masuria, i.e. The Warmia and Masuria Quality Award, and The Best Product and Service of Warmia and Masuria 2008. Following the decision of the jury, the Award Statuette for the best tourist company, founded by the Local Government of Warmia and Masuria Province,  as well as the right to use the title “The Best Product and Service of Warmia and Masuria” went to the WAGABUNDA campsite in Mikolajki. All employees of the campsite are happy to inform Honourable Guests about the above appreciation for their efforts.

"Mister Camping 2008"

For the fifth year in a row the "Wagabunda" campsite was in the group of winners of the yearly competition organized by the Polish Federation of Camping and Caravanning in cooperation with the Minister of Sport and Tourism. "Mister Camping 2007"

The 43rd edition of "Mister Camping" competition, organized by the Polish Federation of Camping and Caravanning in cooperation with the Minister of Sport and Tourism ught us yet another success. Third place in the national ranking and the right to use the title "Mister Camping 2007" are a distinction and an honour for those who made it possible. Jerzy Banat, boss of the company, is presenting the plaque commemorating this occasion.

"Mister Camping 2006"

On November 8, 2006, Zielona Gora witnessed the announcement of the results of the 42nd edition of the All Poland Mister Camping 2006 Competition organised by Polish Federation of Camping and Caravanning. The WAGABUNDA campsite came second in the country, at the same time earning recommendations and the title of Mister Camping 2006. The fact that the WAGABUNDA campsite was given one of the highest awards in Poland was highly appreciated by the Mikolajki authorities, who funded a special cup. The award ceremony took place at the ceremonial session of the Town Council on 19.01.2007.

"Wagabunda" again received prestige 3rd place in the contest organized by Polish Federation Camping and Caravanning. Our camping also received recommendations and right to use the title "Mister Camping 2005".

On the 26th October 2004, during the celebration of 40th jubilee of Polish Federation of Camping and Caravanning in Poznan, took place grand closer of contest "Mister Camping 2004". We are honored to inform our Dear Guest that camping "Wagabunda" is one the best campings in Poland. In consequences of this fact in the year 2005 our camping received the recommendation of P.F.C.C. and prestige title of "Mister Camping 2004".
